Little by little the dates are approaching when our students must go to the U.S. Embassy in Madrid to obtain their visas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-size: 18px;\">Therefore, below we will explain the 9 steps necessary to obtain the appointment at the Embassy:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">1. Original I-20 document sent by the American university.<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">  to the student-athlete once he\/she is officially admitted. From that moment on, you will be able to request an appointment at the Embassy.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Valid passport<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"> with two blank pages.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong>3. Acceptance letter<\/strong>: Letter from the university indicating that you have been accepted.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 18px;\">4. Complete the following application forms:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">a) <strong>DS-160<\/strong>: Website: <a href=\"https:\/\/ceac.state.gov\/genniv\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/ceac.state.gov\/genniv\/<\/a> The DS-160 application form must be completed &#8220;online&#8221; and then printed out using the instructions on the page.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">b) <strong>SEVIS Fee: <\/strong>All foreign students are required to pay the SEVIS fee, which costs $350.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: georgia, palatino,serif; font-size: 18px;\"><strong>VISA application<\/strong> (https:\/\/ais.usvisa-info.com\/en-es\/niv) <strong>and choice of the day of the appointment at the Embassy<\/strong> by checking the availability on the web calendar. Urgent appointments can be requested, if this is the case. Applicants for a nonimmigrant visa must pay a non-refundable application fee of the equivalent of US$160 in euros (about \u20ac140).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Once you have done all the steps we remind you that for your appointment at the embassy you must bring:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong>a) A recent photograph<\/strong>, size 5 cm x 5 cm with white background (it can be taken at the Embassy, but it is preferable to bring it already taken). At the embassy it costs 5\u20ac.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">b) Documentation demonstrating that you are able to cover your personal and educational expenses in the United States (the  <strong>bank statement letter<\/strong>  (the one we use to apply to the university) or proof of scholarships or grants (the I-20 that you will take to the Embassy will show the amount of scholarship that the university gives you).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">c) Academic documentation. The Consular Officer may require documentation regarding the academic level (just in case, bring your high school, college, TOEFL and SAT scores).
