Last weekend we were in the pre-Olympic Hockey championship held at the facilities of the Polideportivo Virgen del Carmen – Beter\u00ed, in Valencia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Spanish National Team, both men and women, were competing for the last place to go to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games against the French and Korean teams, respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the first day, the men’s team drew against the French team, while the women’s team beat Korea 2-1. In the second and final match, the redsticks prevailed in a thrilling match against the Gauls by a 3-2 score, while the girls were superior and finished 2-0 against the Koreans. <\/span><\/p>\n

Round evening in the facilities of the Virgen del Carmen-Beter\u00f3 Sports Center in which both Spanish teams won the ticket to Tokyo 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

It should be mentioned that, in addition to the important appointment of the absolute, the “Campeonato de Espa\u00f1a Auton\u00f3mico Sub 18” was held in the same facilities in the morning. The Catalan team took the title of champions in both the men’s and women’s categories.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MAE team was present to inform all those present about the possibility of pursuing university studies in the United States. We like to take advantage of these types of events to let more people know about the opportunities offered to athletes like these. <\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, only women’s field hockey is eligible for an athletic scholarship, as men’s field hockey is not included in the NCAA college leagues. Even so, at MAE we work with other types of scholarships and agreements that may be of interest to those seeking to study in the USA.<\/span><\/p>\n
